With this Makalu release users has the ability to “exclude” in the filters (a diagnosis code, diagnosis grouper, a procedure code, or procedure grouper). This is helpful in identifying members with specific characteristics.

Financial Analytics – Group Summary Report

After the implementation of the new Makalu dashboard in the 2.7.0 release, the Group Summary Report was removed from the dashboard. This report displays an overview of membership, spending and total risk score by group. It has been moved to the Financial Analytics module (previously Care Analytics) with this Makalu release.

This release includes the following key features:

Save Preferences

This new feature allows the user to save filter preferences throughout the application. The saved preferences applied in one module will be applied for the user in any other modules he/she accesses during that Makalu session. This functionality will prevent the user needing to enter the same filter preference over again when entering each module. Each form has a reset button which clears the applied filter preferences in the session.

This release includes the following key features:

Program Evaluator / Heat Map

The Program Evaluator report compares program effectiveness across age bands. Effectiveness is calculated by comparing PMPM values for participating and non-participating members who share the criteria specified on the report generation page. Lower values indicate higher effectiveness and are shaded in increasingly darker shades of blue, higher values indicate lower effectiveness and are shaded in increasingly darker shades of red. White shaded cells indicate roughly neutral effectiveness.

Makalu has a new dashboard designed to deliver a quick, meaningful analytical snapshot of the client’s population. Graphical representation of Population Risk, Chronic Condition Utilization, Paid Amounts [PMPM] by Relationship, Distribution of Healthcare Expenses and PMPM Trending allow the user to gather key information at a glance. Each graph has a drill down which displays the underlying detail for the respective category.

LEXINGTON, Massachusetts, Feb. 06, 2014 – Deerwalk, Inc., a healthcare analytics and custom software development company, announced today that it has achieved full certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for 2014 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS).
