When I joined Deerwalk three and a half years ago, I had thought that this company was the right platform for me to share my ideas, knowledge and expertise. But, as my desk started getting old and my chair started wearing down, I was proven wrong. Deerwalk was not only the platform to showcase my capabilities but also a platform where I could learn and experience something new every day. And, in March 2014, the experience I got was something big and extraordinary: the chance to travel to the USA, the land of opportunities, the land of dreams.
Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 2.8.0 release of Makalu.
This release includes the following key features:
This new feature allows the user to save filter preferences throughout the application. The saved preferences applied in one module will be applied for the user in any other modules he/she accesses during that Makalu session. This functionality will prevent the user needing to enter the same filter preference over again when entering each module. Each form has a reset button which clears the applied filter preferences in the session.
The year 2014 could not have started off any better for me than with a visit to the US from Deerwalk. This was my first visit to the US and I was excited about it. Since Sanjeev was already here in Nepal at the time, I knew Ashay was coming to pick me up at the airport. But to my surprise Smriti, Prashant and Rupendra were there too. Trust me, I could not have chosen any better weather to go to Boston. It was winter and as soon as I stepped out from the airport, I got my first taste of Winter in Boston. It was freezing cold and there was a snow storm just a couple of days before I landed.
Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 3.3.0 release of Makalu.

Program Evaluator / Heat Map
The Program Evaluator report compares program effectiveness across age bands. Lower values indicate higher effectiveness and are shaded in increasingly darker shades of blue, higher values indicate lower effectiveness and are shaded in increasingly darker shades of red. White shaded cells indicate roughly neutral effectiveness.
On March 6, 2014, Hon. Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai visited the Deerwalk premises at Sifal, Kathmandu, to deliver a talk on the IT sector, youth and the Nepali economy. The program began at 1:30 PM with a visit around the offices to observe the state-of-the-art technological facility of the company, following which the talk program was held.

Population health management is needed today if employers, health plans or ACOs want to manage rising healthcare costs by keeping members healthy. Healthcare managers need to pay different levels and types of attention to different groups of people inside the populations they manage. Once people are put into different groups based on the kind of care they need (wellness management, chronic disease management, acute care, etc.), the members in each group need to be managed in such a way that they can be moved in and out of the cohort at any time. Healthcare-solution providers have struggled for years to develop such dynamic cohort-ing features. Many have promised but none have delivered a truly dynamic cohort-ing tool.
LEXINGTON, Massachusetts, Feb. 06, 2014 – Deerwalk, Inc., a healthcare analytics and custom software development company, announced today that it has achieved full certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for 2014 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS). This is the first year Deerwalk applied for certification and the 100% pass for all 69 measures is noteworthy.
For the last couple of years our team have been working very hard to prepare a complete solution set for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). We now have the pieces together to provide end-to-end solutions to ACOs. As we all know, ACOs need to digest information from discrete sources like EMRs, Lab, Hospital systems, Claims systems, PBMs and so on. They have to meet quality as well as financial targets to remain competitive. They can’t do so if they do not have the operation tools to measure those targets. Deerwalk’s Big Data platform analyzes data from discrete sources and provides ACOs the opportunity to track healthcare utilization and quality metrics from multiple angles and levels. Our care management platform, Everest, allows ACOs to manage patient care by constantly monitoring quality metrics and care gaps at the member and group levels. In addition, members can be kept alert by giving them access to Deerwalk’s member portal through which they can check care gaps and take part in Health Risk Assessment Surveys.
