Member Search Highlighting
Member Search highlighting provides the capability to add sub-filters to a member search / cohort result and have those sub-filters result in a highlighting of certain members. The highlights persist from session to session until the user resets them.

In Makalu 2.2.0 Workers’ Compensation data can be added to a client’s data. With addition of this functionality Makalu will allow clients to view these claims independently of Medical, Pharmacy, Eligibility, Biometric, or HRA Data. Workers’ Compensation data is added as a new tab within Data Search.

COHORT on Data Search, Care Quality and Care Analytics
In Makalu 2.1, the Cohort filter has been added in Data Search, Care Quality and Care Analytics reports. Now user created Cohorts in Member Search can be used as a filter in these additional modules allowing clients to analyze and report on that specific sub-set of their population over time.

Multi-level aggregation (LOA) in Care Analytics and Care Quality
With the implementation of Multi-level aggregation Makalu 1.9 now has capability to filter Care Analytics reports by multiple levels. On the Care Analytics filter (CA102) and Care Quality Filter (QR100) we’ll be able to support multiple levels of filtering based on client defined fields and hierarchies. Besides LOA implementation this release also includes the handling of Member switching in LOA for the Care Analytics reports.

QM in Cascading
Cascading is an application framework that allows for rapid development of data analytics on Apache Hadoop. It is an abstraction of the popular MapReduce software framework that supports distributed computing on large data sets on clusters of computers. By moving to this new framework, Deerwalk will be able to rapidly deliver new sets of Quality Metrics. It also allows us to more easily create integrated unit tests of our metrics to ensure the highest quality.
