Deertalk Best of the Best 2013 was held on Dec 27, 2013 and the participants comprised of the winners and runners-up from the last six Deertalk seasons: Awanish Ranjan, Lekhnath Bhusal, Neeraj Sharma, Nitish Maharjan, Prabhat Man Sainju, Rachana Shrestha, Rosina Shakya, Sabita Khadka, Sachin Karanjit, and Sushant Pokharel. The contestants were asked to present on a topic of their choice for five minutes each.

Suresh’s Visit to the US

When I learnt that my visit to the US was planned for Nov 3, I was truly excited as it would be my first visit to the country. I reached Boston airport at 10:30 PM after experiencing the weariness of changing flights and hours inside them. After a short wait outside the airport, a familiar face (thanks to skype) appeared before me and he was none other than Sanjeev Tuladhar. I had heard from previous visitors that he was easygoing and helpful, and that was undeniably true. I learnt lots of things from him including some cooking tips and, yes, he really cooks well.

Deerwalk Fitness

Deerwalk has taken this problem as a challenge and initiated the Deerwalk Fitness program to combat it. In addition to nutritious food in the canteen via Deerwalk Foods, regular health check-ups in the Deerwalk Clinic, voluntary hiking every weekend, and several recreational facilities like basketball, table tennis and badminton, it is hoped that the addition of a gymnasium will motivate employees to stay fit.

Deertalk 2013 Season 6

The Deertalk session 6 started on a high with the first Topic Speech session having to be extended to two weeks. The enthusiasm of the participants was obvious from the very first meet. Nitish Maharjan had this energy and gusto in his deliveries that made you stand up and take notice . Leknath Bhusal was his usual studied self and his speeches were very earnest and informative. Rajendra, Kiran, Aawart, Suvash were nervous to begin with but grew in confidence with every passing sessions. Prajwol was theatrical with his speeches not ceasing to amaze and amuse in equal parts. The presentation on automated cars by Saban was one of the most interesting speeches of the season. In all, each and every one of the participants gave their stout efforts speaking their heart out in topics covering various genres making this Deertalk Season 6 a successful one.
