Working for social, environmental and educational issues
Basically, I have couple of Friends who are Group of young Professionals (Believers) brought together with one vision of a more aware and responsible future generation. Their objective is to motivate and mobilize youngsters of Nepal by working on social, environmental and educational issues of Nepal. They are "Grass Root Agency".
They are raising funds for educating lower class people's children in Dang and other rural Areas. They have launched "Project Educate One" in Jan 2010 which is a huge success. It is still going on. Recently, they had launched another program called "Plantation project in Mustang" in which they have planted 500 plants in April, 2011 and they will be planting 1000 in the beginning of 2012. Moreover they have been collecting pencils and copies to those students whom they have provided finance for education.
So the only source of income for them right now is "Organizing Charity Dance Party". I think if "Deerwalk for a Cause" charity goes , I guess it goes to We Believers.
P.S. Please visit their Facebook link "http://www.facebook.com/believers1" for more information. Also feel free to talk to me about this anytime :)

Building gondolas above the Trisuli River
The aerial tramway was built more than 40 years ago by the Chinese government, originally to ferry construction materials for Prithvi Highway. Later, the tram was used to carry passengers. Despite the risks involved, as many as 14 people cross the river on the tram at a time. The tramway has not undergone any repair work in the past 18 years.
Recently we heard many news of the accident of the Tuin (Tramways) causing casualty of many school students. So I would like Deerwalk to utilize the cause amount to change the Tram of those tramways.

Free Orthopedic ward for needy patients
The best possible charity that I can think of at the moment would be helping the
needy patients at the Bir Hospital, that are languishing without proper treatment and diet. There's this ward in the hospital (unfortunately I don't recall the name for the ward) where needy patients are treated. Literally, the government bears for their medical expenses and provides them with their daily ration. But the budget the government allocates for this cause is unfortunately too scanty to support for the healthy supply of the resources because of the high number of patients the ward has (At this point I don't have the exact data, but its always been the same). I know a few individuals that have donated some supplies(ration) for the patients on a previous occassion. So, I intend to provide the supplies and possibly bear the treatment expenses of few patients if I get awarded with this Deerwalk's charity fund.

Safalta HIV Sikchya Sadan
Safalta HIV Sikchya Sadan is Kirtipur - based school for providing free education to only HIV infected children.
As per ekantipur.com : "This is the first school in the country to impart free education to only HIV infected children. School Founder Chairperson Raj Kumar Pun and Director Uma Gurung say they give them anti retro-viral treatment but could not get them enrolled in a private school. Not a single government or non-government organisation has helped them financially, so far. "If any organisation helps us, we will definitely provide free education to HIV infected children from across the country up to higher secondary level,"
Pun said.
After going through this news on Kathmandu post, we the QA team like to propose Deerwalk to support the cause.
Detail story can be found on the following link.

Financial Assistance to Bhoj Bahadur Gharti
"Bhoj Bahadur Gharti (a Shandhikharka VDC resident) got typhoid nearly 8-9 years ago. Because of financial difficulties and carelessness, his typhoid ended up into a severe mental problem. He was taken to Ranchi Hospital, India by the villagers and was good for some time then. Later his problem got even worse. Since then after a series of financial difficulties, his family got accustomed to stay without his support. But, they did not have time to care for him. For the past 7 years and more he has been put into a small room, like an animal in the cage, with no one ever taking him out (even to go to toilet).
If we can put him in constant care in some rehabilitation center or mental hospital for a month or so, he would recover. Also, he would need fund for his medication until he becomes able to support himself. I intend to help him re-establish back into his normal life. Fund as charity in this regard will be a great support."

Bringing back the smiles
Toothless grins and sparkling eyes,
Some sad face we don’t know why,
Soaking in the sun they pray,
Oh kind lord, take me away
Today, there are 8 old age home sheltering 400 elderly people in the Kathmandu valley. Fighting for basic needs like food and sanitization, their eyes are filled with hopes that someone, someday will show them little love and care. LCKC has been doing just that! Organizing programs such as eye and dental camp has been a part of Leo Clubs’ identity. We are young but we realize our responsibility and live up to it.
We want to organize a week long mobile dental camp service for the all the old-age homes around Kathmandu. We know the doctors and where to get medications from. We now need the funds to get it started!
Putting the smiles back on the faces of the generation we look to for guidance is a cause close to our heart. If the same is true for you, please take the time to vote for us. One vote on your part could make significant changes to several people.

Vision For All
Around 0.89% of Nepa's population is suffering from blindness, out of which 92% of these visually impaired lives in remote areas of Nepal. Among these blindness 80% can be cured or prevented. Every year around 20,000 people above age of 40 suffers from Cataract.
We Lions Club of Balaju Youth have been visiting remote areas with "Sight First" project to help these individuals to regain their sight. We conduct an eye camp in remote stations providing free eye checkup and identify individuals with cases of Cataract. The patients of Cataract are then taken to closest facility for surgery. After successful cataract operation, the patients are followed up after 2 months for proper case closure.
Please visit our site http://www.youthbalaju.org.np for details and vote us to support our cause.

For Our Future
Education is a concept, referring to the process in which student can learn something which serves as the key to bright and promising future not only for an individual but also for society and nation. Yes, every other kid go to school these days, but come the exam day, be it midterm exam or assessment exam, many students skip it because their parents are not able to pay their fees.
"For our future" is intended to be a sponsorship of full annual scholarship that will be granted for two students (boy/girl) of class X.
Plan of execution:
- 1. Select the school within certain perimeter of locality( based upon the tuition fees they charge for grade X students)
- 2.
Conduct a test of some sort to select the best among the students( the test can be of two different level- a. Primary test (for selection of the finalists)
- b. Finals
- 3. Monitor the progress of selected student so that the students who are selected don't take the scholarship for granted.
- 4. Poor performance will lead to the cancellation of scholarship and the amount will be deposited for next session
- 5. We hope to give continuity to this scheme in annual basis as the amount is enough for a student but at the same time not a huge one.
- 1. Encouragement to a student
- 2. Social responsibility
- 3. Respect and recognition for Deerwalk Services.
Furthermore, I'd like to clarify that I am not endorsing any organization rather if my cause is selected for Deerwalk Charity Cause, this is what I would like to do personally under close scrutiny of Deerwalk Services.
